Dr. Edwards is an Atlanta native who spent eight years at Emory University earning both a Bachelor of Science in Biology and a Doctor of Dental Surgery. Graduating first in his class, he received an award of merit in three specialties (periodontics, endodontics, and prosthetics) and is a member of OKU (the national honorary dental society). He was in private practice in Cedartown and Cave Spring, Georgia for 18 years. During this period, he was a dental consultant for Georgia School for the Deaf and the Public Health Departments of Floyd, Polk, Paulding and Haralson Counties.

Ken has participated in many medical mission trips (1977, 1978, 1980, 2005) to St. Vincent, Dominican Republic, Peru, and Ethiopia. Since 1960, The Boy Scouts of America have been an integral part of his life. Having achieved the rank of Eagle in 1964, he has continued to be an adult teacher and mentor.
